Being unemployed is gross, especially on the weekend when there’s nothing to apply for. I think I’m actually really bad at just relaxing and not worrying about things for a couple of days.

Are there any job sites I’m not checking? I’ve got BackstageJobs, Artsearch, Playbill, Chicago Artists Resource, Entertainmentcareers.net, the demon spawn known as Craigslist…anything else? 

Local sites are okay, but I’d prefer to avoid New York at this point. Thanks in advance, Tumblrpeeps!

I’ve always been all about going into theater/film/entertainment/events, but I’m very strongly considering getting my masters in accounting. I have no idea if this is a good idea or not.

I guess it’s because I’m in OH SHIT WHAT AM I DOING WITH MY LIFE mode right now, but it’s always something I’ve thought of. Hell, I could do it for an arts organization or movie and then it’d be the best of both worlds, right? 

OH MY GOD. EMPLOYERS, PLEASE GET BACK TO ME. YOU ARE RUINING MY LIFE.

I was turned down for a job that I was pretty obviously qualified for and was related to my field. They interviewed me three times and then decided against it. I wasn’t dying to work there or anything, but what a buzzkill, huh? Just gotta keep going!

Based on my examination of Craigslist over the past few weeks, people are currently looking to employ

• truck drivers
• nurses/medical professionals
• programmers
• people who aren’t me

I’ll be making a pretty decent amount of money off of a couple of gigs in the next month, which is awesome. If only I could somehow get enough gigs so I wouldn’t be hunting for a day job. LE SIGH.

I just had a job interview and they gave me a free water bottle. Even if I don’t get the job, at least I have a new water bottle!

Just applied for an apprenticeship yesterday and a job today. I will not be discouraged, dammit!

Judging from a lot of the job listings I’ve been looking at, I really need to be in LA or New York if I want to do anything with management in the arts/entertainment (no surprise there). But to get there in the first place, I need some money and I need to at least know one or two people. But I don’t have money and I don’t know people. But how do I get to know people if I’m not there? And how can I get money if I don’t have a job?
